Chantale Wong

Chantale Wong is an American photographer whose life has moved between two kinds of precision — the exactitude of public service and the quieter discipline of the camera. She built a distinguished career in federal service, holding senior positions under the Clinton and Obama administrations and serving as a U.S. Ambassador and Director of the Asian Development Bank. Photography, though, has been a constant throughout — not a retirement hobby but a parallel life, running alongside decades of consequential work. Her background in technology and her engineer's eye for detail show in images that are considered and purposeful, finding stillness and structure in the world's more chaotic corners. Chantale has traveled with X-Peditions and its predecessor workshops to both Cuba and Hanoi — two cities that reward exactly the kind of photographer she is: patient, observant, and unafraid to look closely.
